Job summary

NXGEN seeks a responsible Managed Services Data Centre Engineer to support day-to-day data centre operations. You will monitor systems, respond to alerts, support access control, and maintain accurate equipment and asset records.

The role requires handling incident tickets end-to-end, escalating issues to SMEs, and adhering to SOPs in a mission-critical environment. Fluency in English and Mandarin is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Nitec in Information Technology, Computer Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 1–2 years of experience in data centre operations, IT operations, infrastructure support, NOC operations, technical support, or a similar environment.
• Experience with incident / ticket management systems and IT asset management would be advantageous.
• Written and spoken language proficiency in English & Mandarin for handling Mandarin-speaking customers and troubleshooting.
• Strong attention to detail, particularly with access control, equipment records and asset verification.

Responsibilities

• Monitor data centre monitoring systems for alerts, alarms and abnormal conditions.
• Identify potential operational issues and raise incident tickets per procedures.
• Escalate technical alerts and incidents to SMEs or support teams.
• Track incident tickets from reporting to resolution and closure.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, actions, escalations and status updates.
• Follow established procedures to support continuous data centre operations.
• Follow data centre physical access and security procedures and verify authorised access.
• Escort visitors and vendors as required and maintain access records.
• Maintain equipment movement records and perform periodic asset verification.
• Use Microsoft Office for documentation and reporting.
