Job summary
CAMERON (SINGAPORE) PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering professional to support the Engineering Manager and lead technical activities for complex data center facility components. You will collaborate across teams to ensure delivery aligns with client requirements and industry standards.
The role involves leading technical discussions, reviewing drawings, ensuring compliance with codes and safety, and developing plans and deliverables for data center infrastructure projects.
Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field with data center experience.
- 10+ years' experience in mechanical design for data center infrastructure.
- Proficient in creating drawings and sketches to convey designs.
- Knowledge of data center construction, operation, and maintenance of mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with codes including AISI, ANSI, ASME, NFPA, OSHA.
- Experience with CAD and BIM software.
- Experience managing fast-track design/build or upgrade projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all technical engineering activities within the team or project.
- Review, check, and approve engineering drawings and documentation for manufacturing accuracy.
- Monitor engineering work for accuracy and compliance with client specs and safety.
- Initiate and participate in design and development planning sessions.
- Prepare TRs and mechanical deliverables including lists and data sheets.
- Develop solutions to reduce costs while maintaining quality, schedule and scope.
- Stay informed on new developments to improve processes.
- Manage Engineering Change Control and MOC documents as required.
- Make independent technical decisions and represent the organization in meetings.
- Define project scope of work and develop execution plans.
- Estimate, plan, and forecast project man-hours for engineering functions.
- Keep current with advancements in engineering for reliability improvements.
- Specify painting and coating systems for data center components.
- Determine mounting, fastening, and bolting methods for components.
- Advise discipline engineers on codes and client specs.
- Supervise outsourced piping work as needed.
- Perform or review pipe stress analysis per Design Basis.
- Provide piping load data to structural engineers.
- Serve as primary client contact during review meetings.
- Provide technical support during construction phases addressing RFIs and issues.
- Attend job site visits, project meetings, and commissioning activities.
