Job summary

Rolls-Royce’s mtu Power Systems unit seeks a Technical Proposal Engineer to lead electro‑mechanical solution engineering for APAC data center projects. You will craft end‑to‑end diesel genset enclosure designs, perform engineering calculations, and coordinate with sales, factories, and suppliers to deliver compliant, high‑quality proposals.

Strong background in either electrical or mechanical genset systems and experience with project lifecycles; travel to sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Diploma/ Degree in Mechanical or Electrical or Mechatronics engineering or relevant disciplines.
• Min. 5 years experience in the diesel engine/generator industry or electrical industry with track record of successfully delivered projects and solutions.
• Deep expertise in either electrical or mechanical genset systems (automation, protection, cooling, fuel, ventilation).
• Strong capability in engineering calculations across electrical and/or mechanical systems.
• Experience in data centers, switchgear, and power protection systems is an added advantage.
• Proficient in English language.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all mechanical/electrical related technical solution engineering for APAC data center projects.
• Develop and manage complete scope from initiation to onsite delivery of mechanical systems related to the diesel genset enclosure.
• Define technical scope with sales and review tender documents.
• Provide the technical specifications and define the scope of supply for the equipment.
• Coordinate with factory and local suppliers to harmonize the scope of supply.
• Quote for the equipment and obtain proposals timely.
• Deliver end-to-end design solutions, including electrical/automation and mechanical designs with detailed drawings.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Support project lifecycle with technical issue resolution and stakeholder training.
