Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Architect tolead the design, build, and governance ofenterprise data platforms supportingCommercial & Corporate Banking, with a strong focus on AML,financial crime,and regulatory data. This role spans multiple APAC markets and requiresahands-on architect who can drive end-to-end delivery, from greenfield buildsto operationalisation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Architecture & Platform Design
- Architect and implement Data Lakehouse solutions on cloudplatforms (AWS / Azure / GCP).
- Design end-to-end data ecosystems covering ingestion,storage, modelling, analytics, andgovernance.
- Define data standards, blueprints, and referencearchitectures across the organisation.
- Ensure scalable, secure, and compliant data environmentsaligned to banking and AMLrequirements.
2. Engineering & Delivery
- Lead ground-up platform builds, taking projects fromconcept to production.
- Oversee data engineering streams, including pipelines,orchestration, quality, lineage, andmetadata.
- Support integration of AI/ML tools into the data platform.
- Work across multiple project streams and client groupswithin a broader program.
3. Analytics & Consumption Layer
- Partner with analytics teams to ensure data models supportBI, reporting, AML monitoring, andregulatory use cases.
- Understand end-to-end flows from source systems -> datalakehouse -> analytics.
4. Data Governance & Operating Model
- Implement and maintain data governance frameworks,including stewardship, lineage, and qualitycontrols.
- Support ongoing client environment maintenance,architecture enhancements, and governancecompliance.
5. Stakeholder Management
- Communicate effectively with business, technology, andregional leadership.
- Translate complex architecture into clear businessoutcomes.- Influence decision-making across cross functional teams.
6. Regional Scope
- Work across multiple APAC markets including Thailand,Korea, Japan, Myanmar, India, and thePhilippines.
- Understand regional variations in data, regulation, andinfrastructure.
- Travel required once per quarter or less.
7. Broader Architecture & Integration
- Contribute beyond data architecture into cloudarchitecture, integration patterns, and enterpriseservices.
- Support the setup and operation of cloud environments,including IAM, networking, and security.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience
- 10+ years in data architecture, data engineering, orenterprise data roles.- Strong exposure to Commercial / Corporate Banking andAML / Financial Crime data domains.
- Proven track record delivering large-scale, multi-streamdata programs.
- Experience working in regional APAC environments.
Technical Skills
- Data Lakehouse architectures (Delta Lake, Iceberg, Hudi).
- Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Data modelling (conceptual, logical, physical).
- ETL/ELT tools, orchestration frameworks, streamingtechnologies.
- Data governance, metadata management, lineage tools.
- Understanding of AI/ML data integration.
Soft Skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to operate in complex, multi-country environments.
- Comfortable leading both engineering-heavy and governance- heavy workstreams.
