Job summary

Hitachi Rail is seeking a Data Architect to design, implement, and govern scalable data architectures supporting asset management and predictive maintenance in the rail domain.

The role involves defining end-to-end data architecture, enabling data platforms, and ensuring governance, security, and high performance across ingestion to consumption layers. Collaboration with stakeholders and leadership across data initiatives is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or related field.
• Strong experience in data architecture and data platform design.
• Hands-on with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern data architectures.
• Experience with data lakes, data warehouses, and lakehouse architectures.
• Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data quality.
• Familiarity with data security principles, including IAM and encryption.
• Experience with DevOps/DataOps, CI/CD, and automation for data pipelines.
• Understanding of distributed systems and scalable data architectures.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability for data platforms.
• Exposure to predictive analytics or data-driven solutions is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills.
• Proficiency in Italian would be an advantage for communication with Italian-speaking stakeholders.

• Experience with DevOps/DataOps practices, including CI/CD and automation for data pipelines.
• Understanding of distributed systems and scalable data architectures.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability for data platforms.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with cross‑functional collaboration experience.
