Job summary

Ambition Singapore is seeking an experienced Data Analyst - Management Accounting to support analysis, design, and delivery of MA data and reporting solutions in a banking context. The role requires deep expertise in P&L, cost allocations, FTP, GL structures, and management reporting.

You will work with Finance, Management Accounting, technology teams, data architects and data modellers to translate requirements into data models and reliable reporting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Management Accounting within banking or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of P&L, cost centres, GL structures, and reporting.
• Experience translating business requirements into data models and data requirements.
• Proficiency with SQL for data analysis and reconciliation.
• Advanced Excel skills for large datasets and reconciliation models.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst - Management Accounting with strong banking-domain expertise to support the analysis, design, and delivery of Management Accounting data and reporting solutions.

The successful candidate will bring 5+ years of experience as a Management Accounting subject matter expert within banking, with a strong understanding of Profit & Loss (P&L), cost allocation, Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP), General Ledger (GL) structures, and management reporting.

This role requires more than technical data querying. The Data Analyst will work closely with Finance, Management Accounting, technology teams, data architects, and data modellers to understand existing business processes, identify data requirements, translate those requirements into logical data structures, and support the delivery of reliable Management Accounting reporting solutions.

Required Experience & Skills

• 5+ years of relevant experience in Management Accounting within the banking or financial services industry.
• Strong practical knowledge of:
• Banking Management Accounting
• General Ledger structures
• Chart of Accounts
• Cost centres and profit centres
• Financial hierarchies and reference data
• Management reporting
• Demonstrated experience performing business process analysis, not solely technical data analysis.
• Strong ability to translate business requirements into data requirements and data-model concepts.
• Experience working closely with data modellers and data architects.
• Strong SQL skills for data analysis, reconciliation, validation, and investigation.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, reconciliation models, and large dataset analysis.

• Understanding of data governance, data quality, metadata, and lineage concepts.
• Exposure to BI and reporting platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or similar tools.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
