Job summary

Unchain Data is seeking a Data Analyst Intern in Singapore to support the data team behind finance reporting and reconciliations. You will learn how to reconcile figures, automate checks, and build dashboards, contributing to reliable financial numbers in a live crypto business.

You’ll gain hands-on experience with production data, learn how to trust diverse sources, and practice explaining discrepancies clearly to non-technical colleagues.

Qualifications

• No professional experience needed and we value how you think and how carefully you work.
• Currently studying, or recently graduated, in a numerate field such as data, statistics, finance, accounting, CS, engineering.
• You have written SQL queries with joins and aggregations and can read others' queries.
• Some Python experience for analysis or automation is expected.
• You check your own output for accuracy and notice when totals don’t add up.
• You are comfortable saying 'I don’t know' and asking why a number is what it is.
• Clear written communication to explain discrepancies to non-technical teammates

Responsibilities

• Check that our numbers are correct by reconciling figures against independent sources.
• Investigate when a report looks wrong and determine if it is actually an issue.
• Trace a number back to its source to understand context.
• Automate manual checks by turning weekly checks into scheduled processes using SQL and Python.
• Build and maintain dashboards Finance uses to monitor performance.
• Document what a dataset means and what it excludes for future users.
