Job summary

Mizuho Bank Singapore Branch is seeking a Data Analyst to join the Business Analytics team for Transaction Banking in the Asia Pacific region. You will analyze data, build reports and dashboards, and deliver insights that support business strategies and KPI tracking.

You will work with cross-functional teams to understand reporting needs, perform data profiling, and automate recurring processes to boost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or holding a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in SQL and at least one database management system (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
• Familiarity with Python for data analysis, manipulation, and automation.
• Experience with BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Strong knowledge of Excel, including Power Query, formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and charting.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities

As a Data Analyst, you will support the Business Analytics team for Transaction Banking in the Asia Pacific region by analyzing data, creating reports and dashboards, and delivering insights that support business strategies and KPI tracking. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand reporting needs and translate them into clear, actionable analysis.

• Work with the Business Analytics team to support Transaction Banking reporting and analysis across the Asia Pacific region in line with business strategies and KPI.
• Collect, clean, validate, and analyze data from multiple internal and external sources to support monthly, regular, and ad hoc reports such as Profit, Exposure, and other key business metrics.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards and reports to provide meaningful insights into Transaction Banking performance, trends, and business opportunities.
• Combine data from various sources to create clear and effective visualizations for stakeholders across country, product, and sub-product levels.
• Support the preparation and timely delivery of reports, dashboards, and visualizations for management and country teams.
• Perform data profiling and quality checks to identify anomalies, inconsistencies, and data gaps.
• Assist in automating recurring reporting processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Collaborate with DBM, Planning, Tokyo, and other relevant teams to enhance GTMP dashboard content and reporting outputs.
• Support data consolidation and distribution activities to ensure accurate and timely business insights.
• Assist in the review and improvement of existing reports and analytics processes.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data analytics, reporting, and visualization tools.

Job Requirements

• Currently pursuing or holding a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Good understanding of data analysis, reporting, and visualization concepts.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with at least one database management system, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.
• Familiarity with Python for data analysis, manipulation, and automation.
• Experience or familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including Power Query, formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and charting.
• Knowledge of data integration, data validation, and ETL concepts is a plus.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver work in a fast-paced environment.
