About the job Data Analysis Engineer (HDD)

Responsibilities:

• Lead data analysis efforts for both customer and internal teams focused on H-M Matching and HDD optimization
• Isolate and evaluate the impact of Head and Media components on HDD performance
• Identify Key Process Input Variables (KPIVs) and Media Parameters affecting HDD pass rates, error codes, and defect rates
• Collaborate closely with R&D teams to communicate analysis results and findings
• Support RTV failure analysis (FA) and work with internal teams on root‑cause identification and corrective actions

Requirements:

• Degree in Engineering, Science, or related field; Masters degree is a plus
• Minimum 1 year experience in the HDD industry
• At least 2 years experience in data analysis or similar function
• Strong data analysis and critical‑thinking skills
• Ability to interpret complex analytical results
• Adaptable to changing priorities and fast‑paced environments
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross‑functional collaboration
• Proficient in analysis software such as Minitab, Tableau, Spotfire, JMP, R, or equivalents
• Competent in Microsoft Office
• Preferred but not required: knowledge of Python, SQL, Macros, or other programming languages
• Familiarity with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Design of Experiment (DOE) methodologies is advantageous
