Our client, is looking for a technically strong Cybersecurity Executive to strengthen its cybersecurity capabilities across both IT and OT environments.
This role will be responsible for implementing and operating cybersecurity controls, improving security architecture and hygiene, managing vulnerabilities and supporting incident response. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to drive cybersecurity initiatives and strengthen the organisation's overall security posture.
We are looking for a hands-on technical cybersecurity professional who is comfortable working independently in a lean team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation and operation of cybersecurity controls across network, endpoint and cloud environments.
- Design and implement security architecture improvements, including network segmentation and system hardening.
- Evaluate and implement cybersecurity tools and technologies to strengthen security capabilities.
- Drive vulnerability management, patching and remediation activities.
- Improve cybersecurity technical standards, controls and overall security hygiene.
- Monitor and investigate security alerts, incidents and anomalies.
- Support cybersecurity incident response and remediation activities.
- Work closely with external vendors and Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs) to improve security monitoring effectiveness.
- Identify opportunities to automate cybersecurity workflows and improve operational efficiency through scripting and/or AI.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and vendors to deliver cybersecurity projects and initiatives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology or a related discipline.
- 3–6 years of hands‑on experience in a combination of cybersecurity engineering/operations, incident response, penetration testing/red teaming, system implementation, system/network administration or software development.
- Strong technical and hands‑on cybersecurity capabilities, with the ability to work across different security domains.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Good understanding of cybersecurity controls, vulnerability management and security operations.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership within a lean team environment.
- Strong project management and organisational skills.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Candidates from a technical hands‑on cybersecurity background are preferred; this role is not suited to candidates with a purely consulting or advisory background.
