Job summary

GovTech Singapore is pioneering Singapore’s Smart Nation initiatives and public sector digital transformation. This role focuses on implementing security controls, threat modelling, and penetration testing to strengthen our cyber defenses across platforms and cloud environments.

You will contribute to secure software development, review designs for security, and evaluate emerging security tools. Flexible, inclusive work culture supports ongoing learning and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in cybersecurity and risk-based security.
• Practical experience in threat modelling, vulnerability assessment, or penetration testing.
• Ability to write or review secure, clear, maintainable code.

[What you will be working on]

• Implement and validate standard security controls using a risk-based approach.
• Conduct threat modelling to identify security gaps, threats, and appropriate mitigations.
• Perform guided penetration testing and validate potential vulnerabilities.
• Develop proofs of concept or security features spanning multiple components.
• Review code and technical designs for security and maintainability.
• Use security analysis tools and remediate findings appropriately.
• Improve security automation, testing, processes, and engineering practices.
• Support the investigation of moderate security incidents and escalatE complex issues.
• Evaluate emerging cybersecurity tools through structured testing and small proof-of-concept projects.

[What we are looking for]

• Strong foundation in cybersecurity, secure engineering, and risk-based security.
• Practical experience in areas such as threat modelling, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, secure software development, cloud security, or security research.
• Ability to write or review secure, clear, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Familiarity with code and cloud security analysis tools, including remediation of identified findings.
• Ability to independently manage well-defined tasks and small projects.
• Sound judgement in balancing security, performance, usability, and maintainability.
• Proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to recognise when support or escalation is required.
