Job summary

Chinese Development Assistance Council (CDAC) in Singapore seeks a Curriculum Specialist (Senior Executive) to design and implement the Primary Chinese Language curriculum and programmes. You will develop teaching approaches, strengthen tutor capabilities, and support the CDAC Tuition Programme.

You will design materials, use data-driven feedback, and coach tutors to improve outcomes for low-income learners, with occasional evenings and travel between centres as required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chinese Studies, Chinese Language Education, Education, Linguistics, or a related field.
• Experience in teaching, curriculum development, or educational programme management preferred.
• Knowledge of MOE Primary Chinese Language syllabuses and assessment requirements is essential.

The role focuses on developing effective teaching approaches, strengthening tutor capabilities, and improving student outcomes, alongside providing tutoring under the CDAC Tuition Programme.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement Primary Chinese Language curriculum aligned with students' learning needs and MOE syllabuses.
• Develop and pilot evidence-informed teaching approaches to improve language proficiency, engagement, and confidence in Chinese Language learning.
• Create lesson materials, learning resources, and assessment tools to support effective teaching and learning.
• Use student performance data and feedback to refine curriculum and enhance programme effectiveness.
• Design and deliver training, resources, and coaching to strengthen tutors' instructional practices and classroom management skills.
• Support tutors in implementing effective Chinese Language teaching strategies and differentiated instruction.
• Tutor and coach Primary Chinese Language students, providing targeted academic support to help them achieve their learning goals.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to students, parents, and programme stakeholders where required.
• Support programme implementation, reporting, evaluation, and partnership initiatives by the team.
• Contribute to projects and initiatives aimed at strengthening Chinese Language learning outcomes for CDAC students.

About you

• Degree in Chinese Studies, Chinese Language Education, Education, Linguistics, or a related field.
• At least 2-3 years of experience in teaching, curriculum development, or educational programme management.
• Good knowledge of MOE Primary Chinese Language syllabuses and assessment requirements.
• Experience in curriculum design, tutor training, or educator development will be an advantage.
• Strong communication, facilitation, and analytical skills with a student-centred approach.
• Passion for supporting low-income learners and promoting confidence in Chinese Language learning.
• Willing to work evenings/weekends and travel between centres as required.
