Job summary

LeClare Preschool (Shenton Way) is seeking a Curriculum and Programme Specialist to lead and strengthen our curriculum, teaching practices and programme quality. You will work closely with Management to ensure alignment with SPROUT values and licensing requirements.

You will support teachers delivering an inquiry-based curriculum, coordinate the bilingual Mandarin programme with the Mandarin Senior Teacher, and provide coaching to enhance teaching quality while ensuring children's readiness for

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• At least four years of early childhood experience, including two years in curriculum development.
• Strong understanding of inquiry-based learning and primary school readiness.
• Sound knowledge of Jolly Phonics and Jolly Grammar.
• Experience in mentoring, coaching or leading teachers.
• Excellent spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Lead curriculum development, implementation and review of learning programmes.
• Oversee portfolios and progress reports to reflect each child's learning and development.
• Guide teachers to balance inquiry and play-based learning with intentional teaching for primary school readiness.

Curriculum and Programme Specialist

The Curriculum and Programme Specialist works closely with Management to lead and strengthen LeClare's curriculum, teaching practices and programme quality.

Role Overview

The role supports teachers in delivering an inquiry-based curriculum while maintaining a strong focus on children's academic and developmental readiness for primary school. This is a hands-on role that also requires active support of centre operations, particularly when operational matters affect curriculum delivery, classroom effectiveness, teachers, or children's care and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum and Programme Development

• Ensure that the curriculum and teaching approaches are aligned with LeClare's mission, vision, SPROUT Values, and relevant licensing and SPARK requirements.

• Lead the development, implementation and review of the centre's curriculum, assessment practices and learning programmes.

• Oversee the timely completion, review and approval of children's portfolios and progress reports, ensuring that they are accurate, consistent and provide a meaningful account of each child's learning and development.

• Guide teachers in balancing inquiry and play-based learning with intentional teaching and primary school preparation.

• Ensure consistency and appropriate progression in children's learning across age groups.

Literacy and Bilingual Programmes

• Demonstrate strong knowledge of Jolly Phonics and Jolly Grammar, and guide teachers in their effective implementation.

• Work closely with the Mandarin Senior Teacher and the Chinese Team to review and strengthen LeClare's bilingual Mandarin programme.

• Promote meaningful collaboration and alignment between the English and Mandarin teaching teams.

Teaching Quality and Team Development

• Conduct classroom observations and provide teachers with practical feedback, coaching and modelling.

• Lead teachers in reflecting on teaching practices, classroom management, routine care and approaches to children's behaviour.

• Identify professional development needs and conduct or coordinate relevant training and sharing sessions.

• Model and advocate professionalism, ethical conduct and accountability.

Parent Communication and Partnerships

• Guide teachers in building professional and responsive relationships with families.

• Identify opportunities to increase the involvement of parents, guardians and grandparents in children's learning.

• Support teachers in addressing curriculum-related questions or concerns from families.

Operational Support

• Work collaboratively with Management to support the smooth day-to-day operations of the centre.

• Take an active and solution-focused approach to operational matters, particularly when they affect programme delivery, classroom effectiveness, teachers, or children's well-being.

• Support staffing coverage, school events, excursions and unexpected operational needs when required.

• Support the implementation of procedures relating to children's care, health, hygiene and safety.

• Provide practical assistance across curriculum and operational areas according to the needs of the centre.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.

• At least four years of early childhood experience, including two years of experience in curriculum development.

• Strong understanding of inquiry-based learning and primary school readiness.

• Sound knowledge and practical experience in Jolly Phonics and Jolly Grammar.

• Experience in mentoring, coaching or leading teachers.

• Excellent spoken and written English.

• Strong interpersonal, leadership, organisational and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work effectively with staff, families and partners from diverse nationalities and cultures.
