Job summary

NTU Singapore's School of Biological Sciences invites a postdoctoral Research Fellow to develop an independent project using CRISPR functional genomics and stem‑cell–derived organoids to study human brain development and evolution.

You will receive direct mentorship, substantial support, and space to establish a scientific program that can transition into a future faculty role. Laboratory opportunities include stem cell biology and organoid technologies.

Qualifications

• PhD in life sciences, biomedical sciences, developmental biology, neuroscience, or related field.
• Strong wet-lab experience and comfort in experimental biology.
• Demonstrated ability to drive a scientific project forward through iteration and challenges.
• Creative and persistent mindset to realize ambitious ideas.
• Excellent communication and collaborative mindset.
• Experience with organoid systems beyond cortex or complementary questions is welcome.
• Not a computational-only role; able to generate and interpret biological data at the bench.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead a novel research project aligned with your interests and lab strengths.
• Drive project from conception to publication with ownership and leadership.
• Contribute to lab meetings, manuscript writing, and collaborations.
• Mentor junior trainees and foster a rigorous, inclusive lab culture.
• Disseminate findings via publications, conferences, and preprints.
• Prepare for transition to independent PI‑track positions with mentorship.
• Engage in ongoing lab work with opportunities for training in CRISPR, organoids, and molecular biology.
