Job summary

SGX Group operates Singapore’s securities and derivatives exchange. The Senior Core AI Engineer is a senior individual contributor role within the AI and Digital Experience team, responsible for building and maintaining SGX’s shared AI services and platform infrastructure.

This is a Singapore-based role. We are seeking a Senior Core AI Engineer who will enable engineers across units to deliver AI use cases reliably at scale by defining APIs, architecture, and governance.

Qualifications

• Proven software engineering experience in Python, including system design, code review, and debugging in production environments.
• Hands-on experience building applications with LLMs, RAG pipelines, and document processing.
• Experience applying data governance and security controls in regulated environments.
• Proven ability to make and document architectural decisions with minimal oversight.
• Experience designing and maintaining APIs and shared services.
• Track record of setting engineering standards and mentoring other engineers.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain shared and reusable AI services and components.
• Design and implement observability and monitoring standards for AI services.
• Define APIs, integration patterns, cohesive architecture, and engineering standards.
• Provide technical guidance and code review to engineers across business units.
• Own technical documentation and governance artefacts for AI use cases.
• Lead pre-deployment reviews for medium and high-risk use cases.
