Job summary

Job description
Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure food is prepared and served according to established standards
  2. Prepare, cook, and present dishes in a timely and consistent manner based on the restaurant menu
  3. Assist the Head Chef in supervising kitchen staff, including junior cooks and kitchen assistants
  4. Ensure all food preparation complies with food hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards (NEA / SFA regulations)
  5. Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation standards
  6. Assist in inventory control, food storage, and minimizing food wastage
  7. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations
  8. Manage workflow efficiently during peak hours
  9. Support the training of new kitchen staff and improve team productivity
  10. Follow restaurant policies, procedures, and management instructions
Job Requirements
  1. Minimum 3–5 years of relevant kitchen experience in a restaurant or similar establishment
  2. Strong cooking skills with a good understanding of kitchen operations
  3. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure
  4. Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
  5. Good teamwork skills with basic leadership capabilities
  6. Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards (Food Hygiene Certificate preferred)
  7. Positive work attitude, responsible, and detail-oriented
  8. Basic communication skills in English (Mandarin is an advantage)
  9. Physically fit and able to stand for long hours in a hot kitchen environment li>
