Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, an RTX business, in Singapore is seeking a Machinist to operate conventional machining equipment and support production targets on-site.

You will interpret technical drawings, perform measurements with micrometers and calipers, and work with supervision to maintain quality and efficiency. Experience in aircraft engine industry and rotating shifts required. The company offers development opportunities, scholarships, health benefits, training, overtime allowances, and transport.

Qualifications

• GCE O/N level or equivalent with NITEC in Precision/Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering.
• Prior experience in Aircraft Engine Industry required.
• Able to work weekly rotating shifts.
• Machinist with conventional machining experience in the aviation industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate various conventional machining equipment, such as manual lathe, bores, milling machine and EDM
• Perform machining dimensional fits & clearance checks per OEM technical manuals (CIR, MM, SPM)
• Perform various bench repair works such as blending, inserts & broken stud replacement
• Interpret machining dimensions & understand the requirements from technical drawings
• Inspect work using conventional measuring instruments such as Micrometer, Vernier Caliper and Dial Indicator to verify conformance to specifications
• Assist line supervisor in their daily operations to achieve production targets, corporate goals and discipline
• Perform various other duties as assigned by Workshop Engineer/Manager
