Job summary

Boustead is seeking a Contract Manager (Construction) to oversee legal contract drafting, redlining, and negotiations for construction tenders, NDAs, and standard industry contracts such as REDAS, PSSCOC, and FIDIC, with a focus on risk mitigation and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, redline, and proofread agreements including NDAs, tenders, and service contracts.
• Negotiate with counter-parties and ensure risk mitigation in contracts.
• Maintain standard contract templates and support internal stakeholders.
• Conduct legal research and stay updated on regulatory developments.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to share best practices and procedures.
• Track contracts and documents, and contribute to training materials as needed.

Contract Manager (Construction) - SG (for a leading industrial property developer and owner in the region)

Reporting to: Senior Legal Counsel

Responsibilities

Candidate’s responsibilities cover the following:

• Maintain, redline, and proofread the agreements i.e., non-disclosure agreements, major construction tenders, professional service agreements and standard industry forms of contract such as REDAS, PSSCOC, FIDIC including appropriate risk mitigation;
• Maintain, redline, and proofread standard contract templates;
• Participate in negotiations with counter-parties;
• Participate in mitigation processes in line with overall standard operating procedures of the organisation;
• Legal research on legislative developments;
• Attend and participate in department and group meetings, staying current on department and group projects, goals and issues;
• Proactively collaborate with internal team members and other Boustead's operational groups and internal stakeholders to share best practices, playbooks, policies and procedures, contract templates etc;
• Assist in providing internal stakeholders with information regarding department processes, procedures and contract development as requested, including development and presentation of training materials;
• Create and/or adhere to contract and document tracking requirements;

Requirements

• Bachelors degree related to Quantity Surveying (major in Mechanical and/or Electrical) or equivalent;
• Minimum 3-5 years experience in comparable role, i.e., legal contract management and administration or procurement;
• Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills in a variety of different agreement types;
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop close working relationships and work collaboratively with internal and external contracts at all levels;
• Demonstrated the ability to maintain problem-solving approach in collaboration with internal and external contacts;
• Demonstrated presentation skills;
• Strong organizational skills; able to organize and follow through with projects; ability to efficiently handle large volume of contracts
