Job summary

RECRUIT EXPRESS PTE LTD is seeking a Contract Executive in Material Planning & Purchasing for a 1-year contract in Singapore’s East region. You will manage MRP-driven purchasing to meet production needs and coordinate with Planning, Production, Quality and Finance to ensure material availability.

You should have at least 3 years of experience in purchasing or planning within manufacturing, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Execute MRP-driven purchasing activities to support production requirements.
• Communicate forecasts, supply requirements and exception reports to suppliers.
• Follow up with suppliers to secure delivery commitments aligned with production schedules.
• Expedite critical materials and resolve supply shortages to minimise disruption.
• Monitor supplier performance and escalate delivery risks when needed.
• Manage quality notifications, supplier returns and material-related issues to closure.
• Coordinate and resolve change requests affecting material supply or delivery.
• Support resolution of goods receipt and invoice discrepancies with internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain purchasing, planning and supplier data in systems.
• Monitor inventory levels and support minimisation of excess or slow-moving stock.
• Collaborate with Planning, Production, Quality, Warehouse and suppliers to ensure availability.
• Ensure purchasing activities comply with processes, procedures and controls.

Contract Executive, Material Planning & Purchasing (Medical Device Industry)

A regulated medical device MNC is seeking a Contract Executive, Material Planning & Purchasing to ensure timely and reliable material availability for production. This role is suited to candidates with purchasing and planning experience who are comfortable managing suppliers, expediting shortages, reviewing MRP requirements and maintaining healthy inventory levels.
Location: East
Duration: 1 Year Contract (Renewable; subject to performance and manpower needs)
Salary Range: $3500-$5000

Job Responsibilities

• Execute MRP-driven purchasing activities to support production requirements.

Who Should Apply

• Buyers or material planners with at least 3 years of experience supporting manufacturing operations, particularly involving electronic and mechanical components.
• Candidates who are strong in supplier follow-up, material expediting and shortage resolution within a fast-paced production environment.
• Individuals who are comfortable working with MRP, ERP systems and inventory data while balancing production needs against inventory levels.

Requirements

• Min. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of purchasing, buying or planning experience.
• Experience sourcing or managing electronic and mechanical assemblies or components.
• Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Good understanding of MRP, purchasing and material-planning processes.
• Experience managing suppliers, delivery schedules and material shortages.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and good proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Knowledge of SAP ERP will be advantageous.
• Strong coordination, follow-up and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with good data accuracy and documentation discipline.
• Able to work effectively across Supply Chain, Production, Quality and Finance functions.
