About Nanyang Technological University, Singapore

Nanyang Technological University, Singapore is a research-intensive public university that ranks consistently among the world's leading institutions. Our colleges span engineering, science, medicine, business, and the humanities, arts and social sciences, and our campus is regularly recognised as one of the greenest in the world. Sustainability and the environment sit at the heart of what the University researches, teaches, and stands for.

About The Asian School Of The Environment

The Asian School of the Environment brings together earth science, ecology, environmental social science, and engineering to tackle the environmental and climate challenges facing Asia. The School works closely with the Earth Observatory of Singapore, a research centre that studies earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis, and climate change across Southeast Asia and beyond. Our communications team carries that work to students, research partners, policymakers, and the wider public.

The role

We are looking for a Senior Assistant Manager, Content & Web Management Specialist Content & Web Management Specialist to build and run our websites, and to design the graphics and animations that bring our research to life online. This is a hands-on role that pairs technical website work with real creative production.

Three Things That Make This Role Worth Your Attention
  • You will own the web presence. This is not a role where you wait for a queue of tickets. You will manage our sites end to end, decide how they are built and structured, and see your work go live in front of a global audience.
  • The work is genuinely varied. In a single week you might fix a domain configuration, build a new landing page, illustrate a research finding, and animate a title sequence. If you have been looking for a role that uses both halves of your skill set, this is one.
  • The subject matter matters. You will be communicating research on climate, natural hazards, and sustainability, working directly with the scientists doing it.
What You Will Do
  • Manage, update, and publish content across our websites, which run on a mix of platforms including Sitefinity, Wix, GoDaddy Website Builder, and WordPress.
  • Build new pages, landing pages, and microsites, and support redesigns and platform migrations from planning through to launch.
  • Look after the technical health of our sites, covering domains, records, certificates, redirects, page speed, search visibility, and accessibility.
  • Design graphics, illustrations, infographics, banners, and layouts for our websites, social media channels, events, and publications.
  • Create motion graphics and animations for the web and for social media, including explainer sequences, titles, and lightweight web animations.
  • Produce visual content for our social media channels, including Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X, Bluesky, Facebook, and YouTube.
  • Work with faculty, researchers, and colleagues across the School and the Earth Observatory to turn complex research into clear, well-designed digital content.
  • Build the templates, workflows, and design systems that let the whole team work faster and more consistently.

The position is based at the University's Yunnan Garden campus at 50 Nanyang Avenue, Singapore, within the Asian School of the Environment.

Why join us
  • Scope to grow. You will work across web development, design, motion graphics, and analytics, and have room to deepen whichever of those you want to build a career on.
  • Learning and development. Staff have access to the University's professional development programmes, course subsidies, and internal training.
  • Career progression. Clear progression pathways within the University's professional and administrative career tracks, with the option to move across schools, centres, and central functions.
  • A working environment built around people. Flexible and hybrid working arrangements, generous leave, comprehensive healthcare and insurance coverage, and staff wellbeing, recreation, and community activities including Campus Recreation and Wellness (CREW).
  • A campus worth showing up to. One of the greenest university campuses in the world, with sports and recreation facilities, food options, and on-campus amenities.
  • Work that has an audience. Our research reaches national and international media, policymakers, and the public, and the design and web work you do is a visible part of how it lands.
What You Must Have
  • A degree or diploma in communications, digital media, interactive media, graphic or visual design, computer science, information technology, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience with a strong portfolio will also be considered.
  • At least [3] years of hands-on experience combining website management with graphic design and motion graphics.

  • Experience communicating scientific, research, or technical subjects to general audiences.
  • Experience in a university, research institute, public sector, or non-profit setting.
  • Google Analytics 4, Search Console, and Tag Manager.
