Job summary

BESTBUILT CONSTRUCTION PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks an experienced Accountant to manage full sets of accounts, project-based cost control, and financial compliance within the construction sector.

You will work closely with project teams to deliver timely financial reporting, monitor budgets and variations, handle GST submissions, and support audits and year-end closing processes. The ideal candidate has a Diploma or Degree in Accounting, at least 5 years in construction accounting, and

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in construction industry.
• Strong understanding of construction costing, progress claims, and retention.
• Proficient in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, Xero, MYOB or similar).
• Good knowledge of GST and local regulatory requirements.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently.
• Good communication skills to liaise with project and management teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain full set of accounts (AP, AR, GL, bank reconciliation).
• Handle project-based accounting, including job costing and cost allocation.
• Monitor project budgets, variations, and cost overruns.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and cash flow forecasts.
• Process progress claims, subcontractor payments, and retention sums.
• Ensure timely billing and follow-up on outstanding receivables.
• Prepare GST submissions and liaise with auditors and tax agents.
• Support annual audit and year-end closing.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements.
• Maintain proper filing of financial and project-related documents.
