Job summary

Steel Tek in Singapore seeks a Diploma-trained Drafting Technician to prepare and update technical drawings for architectural, structural, and engineering projects.

You will produce construction and shop drawings, review revisions, and coordinate with project managers, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and site teams.

Proficiency in AutoCAD is required; 2D drafting knowledge is essential, and 3D tools such as Revit or SketchUp are a plus.

Qualifications

• Diploma / Nitec / Higher Nitec in Civil Engineering, Building, Architectural Technology, Drafting, or related field.
• 1–2 years of relevant drafting experience in construction, renovation, architectural, structural, or engineering projects.
• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of 2D drafting and construction drawings.
• Ability to read and understand architectural and structural drawings.
• Knowledge of 3D modelling / SketchUp / Revit is an advantage.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Able to work independently and meet project deadlines.
• Willing to work on-site when required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and update technical drawings based on architectural, structural, and engineering requirements.
• Produce detailed construction drawings, shop drawings, and as-built drawings.
• Coordinate drawings with Project Managers, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and site teams.
• Review drawings and incorporate revisions according to project requirements.
• Assist in preparing drawings for submission and approval.
• Ensure drawings comply with project specifications and relevant standards.
• Maintain proper records and filing of drawings and revisions.
• Conduct site measurements when required and update drawings accordingly.
• Support the project team with drafting and technical documentation.
