Job summary

HYE ENGINEERING PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a skilled formwork carpenter to read shop drawings and construct formwork for columns, beams, slabs, walls and stairs.

You will measure, cut and shape timber, plywood and steel panels, install supports, dismantle after curing, and coordinate with concreters and steel fixers to ensure proper sequencing while maintaining site safety and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret shop drawings, structural drawings, and formwork layout plans
• Fabricate and erect formwork/shuttering for columns, beams, slabs, walls, and staircases
• Measure, cut, and shape timber, plywood, and steel formwork panels
• Install formwork supports, props, and bracing according to engineering specifications
• Dismantle and strike formwork after concrete curing, and prepare materials for reuse
• Carry out minor repairs and maintenance of formwork panels and carpentry tools
• Coordinate with steel fixers, concreters, and other trades to ensure work sequencing
• Ensure all work complies with WSH (Workplace Safety and Health) regulations and site safety procedures
• Conduct daily checks on tools and equipment before use
• Report defects, unsafe conditions, or discrepancies in drawings to supervisor
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area
