Job summary

ScienTec Consulting Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Conservation Officer to assist with assessments of paintings and artefacts and perform minor treatments. The role is based in the West Area, Singapore, with a 6-month contract and training provided. Working hours are Mon-Fri, 8.15am-5.30pm.

Responsibilities include condition assessments, documentation, preventive care, mounting, re-housing and exhibition-related conservation tasks, plus administrative support and collaboration with the Paintings team.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle fragile materials with care.
• Diploma or training in art conservation or internship experience.

• Assist with conservation preparation and preventive care, including mounting, re-housing and stretcher assembly.
• Support canvas flattening, storage preparation and exhibition-related conservation requirements with proper handling of artworks.
• Provide administrative support: printing, scanning, uploading and filing conservation records.
• Collaborate with the Paintings team and assist with ad-hoc conservation duties and projects.

• Mon - Fri, 8.15am - 5.30pm
• 6-month contract (Training is provided)

Responsibilities

• Conduct condition assessments, photographic documentation and minor conservation treatments on paintings, artworks and artefacts in accordance with established procedures.
• Assist with conservation preparation and preventive care activities, including artwork mounting, re-housing and stretcher assembly.
• Support canvas flattening, storage preparation and exhibition-related conservation requirements to ensure the proper preservation and handling of artworks.
• Provide administrative and documentation support, including printing, scanning, uploading and filing conservation records and related documents.
• Collaborate closely with the Paintings team and assist with ad-hoc conservation duties, operational tasks and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Possesses minimum a recognised Diploma, with a background in art or prior conservation-related training or internship experience.
• Ability to handle fragile materials with a high degree of manual dexterity and sensitivity.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
