Job summary

UWCSEA Dover is seeking a Teacher of Middle School English for ages 11–14 to start in August 2027. The successful candidate will hold a tertiary qualification in relevant subjects and have significant teaching experience with 11–14 year olds.

English is taught at Language A level with a focus on literature and language. The role requires commitment to concept-based teaching, collaboration within the English department and broader Middle School, and ongoing professional learning.

Qualifications

• A good degree and a recognized teaching qualification or certification.
• Significant teaching experience with 11–14 year olds.

Responsibilities

• Contribute positively to the English department and Middle School team.
• Design learning experiences that challenge and inspire students and support diverse learners.
• Utilise UWCSEA Learning Principles as a foundation for teaching and learning.
• Ensure assessments provide timely feedback on formative and summative work.
• Demonstrate effective classroom management across academic, social, and emotional dimensions of learning.
• Communicate with parents about their children's learning and progress.
