Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with approximately 5-6 years' PQE.
• Experience in corporate compliance, regulatory advisory or investigations.
• Background in general corporate / M&A is highly relevant.

Responsibilities

• Advise on corporate compliance, governance and regulatory matters across the business.
• Support implementation of group-wide compliance policies, frameworks and internal controls.
• Advise on compliance considerations arising from new initiatives, commercial arrangements and strategic projects.
• Support matters relating to anti-bribery and corruption, conflicts of interest, sanctions, third-party risk and other corporate compliance areas.
• Conduct and support internal compliance reviews, risk assessments and investigations where required.
• Monitor regulatory developments and assess impact on the business.
• Work with regional and local teams to ensure consistent implementation of group standards.
• Develop and deliver compliance guidance and training to internal stakeholders.
• Support broader corporate, governance and strategic matters as required.

We are partnering with a leading technology and digital commerce platform to appoint a Compliance Counsel to join its established legal and compliance team.

This is a broad, business-facing role supporting the organisation across a range of corporate compliance, governance and regulatory matters. The successful candidate will work closely with legal, compliance and business stakeholders across multiple markets, providing practical advice within a fast-paced and highly international environment.

Importantly, this role is not limited to candidates from a dedicated compliance practice. We are equally interested in strong general corporate / M&A lawyers with excellent technical foundations who are keen to broaden their experience into compliance and regulatory advisory work.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise on a broad range of corporate compliance, governance and regulatory matters across the business.
• Support the implementation and enhancement of group-wide compliance policies, frameworks and internal controls.
• Advise business stakeholders on compliance considerations arising from new initiatives, commercial arrangements and strategic projects.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with approximately 5-6 years' PQE.
• Strong legal training gained within a leading international or reputable law firm and/or sophisticated in-house environment.
• Candidates with experience in corporate compliance, regulatory advisory or investigations would be highly relevant.
• Strong lawyers from a general corporate / M&A practice who are interested in developing a compliance-focused in-house career are also encouraged to apply.
• Excellent drafting, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong commercial judgement with the ability to translate legal and regulatory requirements into practical business solutions.
• Comfortable operating across multiple jurisdictions and working with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Proactive, adaptable and able to operate effectively within a fast-moving technology environment.
