The role
This is a regulatory operations role, not a KYC or transaction-monitoring role. We are seeing junior and mid-level hires that can manage ongoing compliance obligations of a portfolio of fund management clients. This includes ensuring timely filings with government regulators, keeping compliance manuals current, managing clients' annual regulatory calendars, and analysing regulatory changes published by the MAS and the US government.
Key responsibilities
Regulatory filings and notifications
- Prepare, review and submit client filings through MAS-Tx, including periodic returns, annual submissions, auditor-related filings and change notifications (representatives, key officers, shareholdings, business changes).
- Coordinate inputs with client finance teams, fund administrators and auditors, and check submissions for accuracy and consistency before filing.
- Keep a filing record and audit trail for each client.
Compliance manual and policy updates
- Update client compliance manuals, policies and procedures to reflect new or amended MAS Notices, Guidelines, Regulations and FAQs.
- Draft redlines and change summaries for client review, and track sign-off and version history.
- Run gap reviews of existing client documentation against current requirements.
Compliance calendar and tracker maintenance
- Maintain compliance calendars for each client and across the portfolio: filing deadlines, attestations, training, reviews and board reporting.
- Keep obligation trackers and status reporting current, and flag at-risk or overdue items early.
- Prepare periodic status updates for clients and internal review.
Regulatory horizon scanning
- Monitor MAS releases: consultation papers, responses to feedback, new and amended Notices and Guidelines, circulars, enforcement actions and speeches.
- Assess each release's relevance to fund manager clients by licence type and business model.
- Draft client alerts and internal briefing notes, and feed changes into manuals and calendars.
