Charterhouse are supporting a European MNC in their search for a Regional Compensation & Benefits Manager cover 11 countries and supporting a workforce of over 1,000. You will manage a small team.


Reporting to the global HQ, this role is responsible for developing and implementing compensation, benefits, and rewards strategies that attract, engage, motivate, and retain top talent across the organisation.


Working closely with HR business partners, Finance, and senior leadership, the role designs and administers competitive total rewards programmes that align with business objectives, support employee engagement, and drive performance.


Responsibilities:

Reward Strategy, Governance and Market Alignment


  • Develop and deliver comprehensive compensation, benefits, and rewards strategies, policies, and programmes that support the attraction, retention, and motivation of top talent globally.

  • Conduct market research and analysis to benchmark compensation levels, benefits, and incentive structures against industry standards and competitor practices.

  • Monitor market trends and legislative developments relating to compensation and benefits, providing recommendations and ensuring compliance with local and global requirements.

  • Keep up to date with industry best practice and emerging trends in compensation and rewards, continuously enhancing the bank’s programmes to remain competitive in the market.


Annual Compensation, Variable Pay and Budgeting


  • Partner with HR business partners, senior management, and Finance to design and implement annual compensation and benefits plans that align with business priorities and budget requirements.

  • Lead the annual salary review process, including job evaluation, salary benchmarking, and merit increase recommendations, ensuring fairness, consistency, and regulatory compliance.

  • Manage the administration of variable pay programmes, including annual bonuses, sales incentives, and long-term incentive plans, ensuring accurate calculations, timely payments, and clear communication to eligible employees.

  • Support the annual budgeting process by providing data and insights on compensation costs and trends.


Benefits, Wellbeing and Employee Experience


  • Oversee the day-to-day administration, management, and renewal of APAC employee benefits programmes, including the introduction of initiatives that enhance the regional benefits offering.

  • Contribute to the Wellness team’s annual wellbeing calendar and provide APAC-specific content and input.

  • Conduct ongoing benefits reviews to ensure offerings remain competitive, cost-effective, aligned with employee needs, and consistent with the wider business strategy.

  • Drive communication and education initiatives for compensation and benefits programmes, ensuring employees clearly understand the total rewards offerings available to them.


Data, Systems and Insights


  • Work with the HRIS team to maintain and update compensation data and systems, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and effective reporting.

  • Analyse compensation and rewards data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement, providing actionable insights to senior management.

  • Administer general benefits processes, including updating Workday where required.


Stakeholder Management, Vendors and Projects


  • Provide guidance and support to HR business partners and managers on compensation-related matters, including job levelling, salary bands, and incentive plans.

  • Manage escalated queries and issues raised by providers, brokers, and employees.

  • Manage benefits-related invoices centrally, ensuring accurate cost allocation, completion of reconciliations, and appropriate approvals.

  • Own and maintain benefits processes, ensuring they remain accurate, current, and fit for purpose.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external vendors and consultants to leverage expertise and support the effective administration of compensation and rewards programmes.

  • Lead special compensation projects, including job grading initiatives, ensuring effective delivery and alignment with best practice.


HR Shared Services Responsibilities


  • Manage key stakeholder relationships.

  • Act as a point of escalation for complex queries and issues.

  • Monitor service levels and maintain quality control across HR Shared Services activities.


Attributes:


  • Relevant degree in Human Resources or Business Administration

  • Strong experience managing employee benefits renewals.

  • Proven experience managing external suppliers and vendors, as well as responding to employee queries.

  • Strong understanding of compensation principles, market trends, regulatory requirements, and industry best practice.

  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, conduct market research, and provide data-driven recommendations.

  • Proficiency in compensation analysis and benchmarking tools, HR information systems, and advanced Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes within tight deadlines.

  • Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement focus, actively seeking opportunities to enhance compensation and rewards programmes.

  • High level of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and global working environment.
