Job description

SUMMARY:

Tower Transit Singapore (TTS) is in the business of moving people, not buses. As one of Singapore’s four public transport operators, TTS carries about 14 million passengers a month. The work we do impacts the lives of many people and intersects with all segments of society. This people-centric perspective influences everything we do from the way we treat our employees and passengers to the stories we tell.

As Communications Assistant Manager, you will have the opportunity to engage with stakeholders across that broad spectrum, including bus captains, the trade union, the media, community groups and MPs, all of whom are your audiences. You will support TTS’ internal and external communications efforts, tailoring key messages to different stakeholder groups and applying your skills in strategic communication to a wide range of issues.

You will play a key role in managing our internal comms by working with various departments to craft and amplify key messages to our employees. You will take the lead on internal content creation and manage the publishing of news on TTS Hub, our custom-built staff app. You will also work with our developers to drive enhancements to the app. As part of a nimble and dynamic Communications & Customer Experience team, you will also support our staff engagement, customer experience and inclusive transport initiatives. On the external front, your main responsibilities encompass media relations, and social media, stakeholder and events management.

You will report directly to the Communications and Customer Experience Senior Manager and work closely with the Communications and Customer Experience Director. This role is based primarily at the Bulim Bus Depot but will often require you to travel to other locations across TTS’ operations.

  • Manage agency partners to develop and execute social media content aligned with TTS’ brand voice and objectives
  • Develop service announcements and support the execution of campaigns and brand initiatives
  • Monitor trends and identify opportunities to enhance engagement, visibility and brand positioning
  • Manage media relations, including handling queries, drafting media releases/statements, and supporting media pitching and interview coordination
  • Support the planning and execution of events, launches and stakeholder engagements
  • Support communications during service incidents, including preparation of holding statements and real-time updates in coordination with Operations
  • Contribute to broader Communications & Customer Experience initiatives and cross-functional projects

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, CONDITIONS SPECIFICATION:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in communications, PR, or a related field
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
  • Good understanding of media relations and social media platforms
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities effectively

  • Proactive, resourceful, and detail-oriented
  • Experience working with agencies is an advantage
  • Familiarity with design/content tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe Illustrator) is a plus
