Job summary

STAFFKING PTE. LTD. is seeking an on-site Commissioning Engineer to oversee construction and installation activities before system commissioning, plan manpower, and ensure timely progress with OEMs.

The role covers development of commissioning procedures, safety compliance, and thorough documentation. The ideal candidate has a diploma/degree in naval/structural/marine/electrical engineering or offshore engineering, with shipboard experience or 3 years in a similar role preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Naval Architecture, Structural Engineering, Marine Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Offshore Engineering or related disciplines.
• Naval Institute training/certification will be an advantage.
• Shipboard experience or 3 years' relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all construction and installation activities are completed before commencing system commissioning.
• Plan and allocate manpower to meet the commissioning schedule.
• Develop and ensure the availability of commissioning procedures and guidelines for equipment start-up and testing.
• Coordinate and manage commissioning activities between the company and OEMs.
• Identify and report operational issues involving machinery and equipment, and assist in troubleshooting and rectification.
• Ensure OEMs fulfil their contractual obligations and deliverables.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure proper housekeeping and safety compliance.
• Supervise onsite commissioning activities and coordinate work with other trades.
• Prepare and maintain commissioning documentation, including site observations, test records, and checklists.
• Monitor and review commissioning progress through meetings and progress reviews with customers.
• Ensure safety procedures, risk control measures, and precautionary requirements are implemented throughout commissioning activities.
• Compile, update, and maintain commissioning reports and records.
• Identify and assist in resolving commissioning issues, equipment malfunctions, and operational defects.
• Assess requirements for specialised tools and equipment, and initiate procurement when necessary.
• Review the suitability and condition of tools and equipment to ensure safe operations.
• Develop and update Risk Assessments (RA) and conduct weekly safety briefings for supervisors and workers.

Job Scope:
