Job summary

Gateway Search is seeking an experienced Site Commissioning Engineer to support major onshore and offshore Oil & Gas projects, including FPSO facilities. The role emphasizes leadership in testing, commissioning and startup from planning to handover, with strong emphasis on safety and project coordination.

The candidate will lead offshore commissioning activities, coordinate with clients and subcontractors, and ensure effective documentation and knowledge sharing while maintaining safety

Qualifications

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Site Commissioning Engineer with strong expertise in water and wastewater treatment systems to support major onshore and offshore Oil & Gas projects, including FPSO facilities.

This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced commissioning professional who can lead testing, commissioning and startup activities from planning through successful system handover and facility startup.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of commissioning and startup plans for water and wastewater systems.
• Develop and review procedures for testing, cleaning, commissioning and initial startup of plant equipment and systems.
• Manage coordination with clients, vendors, subcontractors and project teams during system completion, commissioning and startup.
• Lead offshore commissioning activities and provide support during facility startup.
• Manage commissioning documentation, including commissioning records, test results, as-built documentation, O&M inputs and design feedback.
• Prepare and deliver training programs and materials for process plant equipment and systems.
• Attend and contribute to progress and commissioning meetings.
• Compile commissioning dossiers, deliverables, reports and handover documentation.
• Identify and report safety issues and actively contribute to improving safe working practices.
• Maintain effective working relationships across engineering, construction, operations, vendors and client organizations.
• Contribute to the capture and sharing of technical and project knowledge.
• Maintain continuous professional development and stay current with industry technologies, standards and best practices.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related Engineering discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in water and wastewater treatment.
• Proven experience in onshore/offshore Oil & Gas projects and/or FPSO facilities.
• Strong practical knowledge of plant testing, commissioning and startup.
• Demonstrated experience leading commissioning activities and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness and ability to travel to offshore project sites and perform offshore commissioning/startup activities.
• Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
