Job summary

Gateway Search seeks an experienced water and wastewater Process Engineer to design RO, UF, and SRU packages for onshore, platform and FPSO facilities. You will develop PFDs, P&IDs, mass/heat balances, hydraulic calculations, and prepare datasheets and process philosophies.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes.
• Experience leading teams in water/wastewater or similar environments.
• Industrial water/wastewater operations and process management experience.
• 8+ years in industrial water/wastewater treatment.
• FEED/EPC experience in Water, FPSO or Oil & Gas preferred.
• Design of skid-based water treatment systems and equipment.
• Willing to travel and adapt in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to multi-task across complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Design RO, UF, and SRU packages for onshore, platform and offshore FPSO facilities.
• Develop PFDs, P&IDs, mass/heat balances, and hydraulic calculations.
• Prepare process datasheets for equipment and instruments.
• Draft Process Philosophies including Control, Startup/Shutdown, and Operations/Maintenance.
• Size membranes, skids, pumps, vessels, and piping for offshore facilities considering weight/space constraints.
• Select materials for corrosive seawater service and chemical compatibility.
• Incorporate client comments and prepare responses; liaise with PM and commercial teams on changes.
• Review vendor documents to ensure alignment with project requirements.
• Prepare specifications, datasheets, and MTOs per API/ASME/NORSOK/ISO standards.
• Interface with piping, structural, E&I and layout teams for integration.
• Contribute input to operating, pre-commissioning and commissioning manuals.
• Support weight/space optimization studies for skid/modules and understand contractual scope.

Job description

• Design of RO, UF, and SRU (Sulphate Removal) packages for onshore, platform and offshore FPSO facilities
• Develop PFDs, P&IDs, mass/heat balances, and hydraulic calculations
• Preparation of Process datasheets for Equipment and Instruments
• Preparation of Process Philosophies like Control, Startup/Shutdown, and Operation /Maintenance philosophies
• Size membranes, skids, pumps (booster/HP), vessels, and piping for offshore facilities with considering weight/space constraints
• Select materials for corrosive seawater service and chemical compatibility
• Identifying all client's comments and communications, to ensure client's comments / requirements are implemented, as well as feedback to project management and commercial team, raise trends / potential change orders, as necessary
• Review vendor documents and provide comments to ensure the vendor design is in line with the project requirements
• Prepare technical specifications, datasheets, and MTOs per client/EPC standards (API, ASME, NORSOK, ISO)
• Interface with piping, structural, E&I and layout teams for skids and module integration
• Provide and prepare input to operating manual, pre-commissioning and commissioning manual
• Contribute to weight / space optimization studies for skid and modules.
• Understand the project & client’s contractual requirements and scope of work.
• Clarify scope of work and supply to form the contract basis with client.

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge and experience in overall water and wastewater treatment processes together with qualifications acquired through a tertiary degree in engineering, process, chemical, mechanical or environmental is preferred
• Experience leading and managing teams in a water and wastewater or similar operational environment
• Extensive experience in Industrial water and wastewater treatment operations and process management
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in industrial water/wastewater treatment
• Experience in FEED, EPC Engineering and Packages, preferably in Water, FPSO and Oil & Gas Industry
• Experience in the design of complex skid-based industrial water treatment systems
• Willing to travel
• Able to multi-task and able to work in a fast-paced environment
