Job summary

HP Singapore invites a College Intern – Manufacturing AI Solutions to work on AI and digital transformation projects in a live manufacturing environment.

You will analyze data, develop dashboards, automate data workflows in Python, and contribute to agentic AI and LLM initiatives for production processes. The internship provides hands-on experience and mentorship from engineers shaping Industry 4.0 in manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree; year 3 preferred.
• Basic Python programming experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team.
• Exposure to data analytics, visualization, and ML concepts.
• Familiarity with AI/LLMs and prompt engineering is a plus.

What a College Intern – Manufacturing AI Solutions does at HP: AI & Digital Transformation

• Develop AI-powered applications to improve manufacturing productivity and engineering efficiency.
• Support the development of Agentic AI and Large Language Model (LLM) solutions for troubleshooting, knowledge management, and process support.
• Explore prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and workflow automation technologies for factory applications.
• Identify opportunities to replace manual engineering activities with intelligent digital solutions.
• Analyze manufacturing, quality, and operational data to identify trends, issues, and improvement opportunities.
• Develop interactive dashboards and reporting tools to support engineering and management decision-making.
• Automate data collection, processing, and reporting using Python and other analytics tools.
• Create meaningful visualizations that simplify complex production information.

Data Analytics & Visualization

• Analyze manufacturing, quality, and operational data to identify trends, issues, and improvement opportunities.
• Develop interactive dashboards and reporting tools to support engineering and management decision-making.
• Automate data collection, processing, and reporting using Python and other analytics tools.
• Create meaningful visualizations that simplify complex production information.

Manufacturing Systems & Process Improvement

• Collaborate with engineers and manufacturing partners to understand factory workflows and operational challenges.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives through data-driven analysis.
• Participate in manufacturing process reviews and digital transformation projects.
• Assist in identifying opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and operational effectiveness.

Project Execution

• Manage project milestones, timelines, and deliverables.
• Present project updates, findings, and recommendations to engineering leadership.
• Document technical solutions and develop user guides where applicable.

Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in: Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Systems or a related technical discipline
• Year 3 undergraduate students preferred.
• Basic programming experience in Python or similar languages.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience or coursework in one or more of the following areas:
• Python programming
• Data Analytics and Data Visualization
• Machine Learning or Artificial Intelligence
• Large Language Models (LLMs)
• Prompt Engineering
• AI Agents and Agentic Workflows
• Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools
• SQL and database management
