Job summary

Apple’s Networking team builds software-defined cloud network infrastructure as part of Apple Cloud. We deliver scalable, highly available services for iCloud, iTunes, Siri, Maps and more.

As an Operations Engineer you’ll handle day-to-day ops of K8 infra, firewalls, VPCs, and incident management with periodic on-call rotation. Strong automation, scripting and collaboration are essential to success.

Qualifications

• Strong Linux sysadmin skills with automation and monitoring.
• Proficient in Kubernetes cluster management and app deployment.
• Proficient in Python or Ansible or Shell scripting.
• Understanding TCP/IP, routing, firewalls and networking basics.
• Experience with incident management and outages in large environments.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code approaches.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing SDN infrastructure across data centers, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Troubleshoot basic networking (IP, DNS, firewalls) and support incidents.
• Manage P1/P0 incidents and contribute to runbooks and automation.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to resolve issues and improve reliability.
• Document processes and support deployment automation with Ansible and scripting.
• Work with Kubernetes for cluster maintenance and application deployments.
