Job summary

EPAM Systems in Singapore is seeking a Software Engineer (Java, Kafka) to design and run cloud-native services on Microsoft Azure and AWS, with event-driven integrations using Kafka and optimized PostgreSQL data access.

You will design, build and maintain back-end services using Java, Kafka and microservices; develop RESTful APIs that are secure and scalable; implement event streaming patterns and monitor cloud workloads; collaborate with product and engineering teams to ship features end to end

Qualifications

Proficient in Java with hands-on back-end development.
Experience designing microservices, including observability and resilience patterns.
RESTful APIs design, implementation and integration experience.
Experience deploying and operating cloud services on Azure or AWS.
Experience with Apache Kafka for event-driven architectures.
Strong PostgreSQL skills, including schema design and query tuning.
Strong problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Design, build and maintain back-end services using Java, Kafka and microservices.
Develop RESTful APIs that are secure and scalable.
Implement event streaming and messaging patterns with Apache Kafka.
Build, deploy and monitor cloud-native workloads on Azure and AWS.
Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas, queries and performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features end-to-end.
Participate in code reviews, testing and releases; troubleshoot production issues.
