Job summary

Morgan McKinley Pte Ltd is seeking a Lead Engineer to design and develop system/data product solutions for public sector clients in Singapore. You will initiate studies of client processes and IT requirements, assess feasibility of new systems and enhancements, and lead cloud-based container workloads to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in IT or related field.
3-5 years of AWS cloud experience.
AWS Certified Solution Architect preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage and optimize performance, availability, and security of containerized apps on cloud platforms.
Automate and improve software delivery to enhance collaboration between development and IT operations.
Coordinate & execute application releases, considering dependencies, timelines and business objectives.
Identify and manage risks with releases and coordinate rollback procedures if needed.

Job description

This is an opportunity to become a direct hire as Lead Engineer in one of the public sector clients. This role will develop and design system/data product solutions with the purpose of improving business efficiency and productivity. This will also require to initiate the study and research of client business processes and requirements, information technology requirements, procedures or problems according to business needs. Feasibility of new systems and/or enhancements to existing systems will also be covered by this opportunity.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

To manage & optimize the performance, availability, and security of application containers hosted on cloud platforms, as well as assess new capabilities and advice stakeholders to optimize their workloads.
To automate and improve the process of software delivery to enhance collaboration and communication between application implementation and IT operations.

1) Application Maintenance

Coordinate & execute application releases, considering dependencies, timelines & business objectives.
Identify & manage risks associated with the releases, ensuring that releases are rolled out smoothly & coordinate rollback procedures if necessary.
Optimize system performance and scalability, ensuring that applications' containers can handle varying workloads and implementing monitoring, incident response & reliability best practices.
Evaluate, select & integrate services or tools (e.g. AppStream) to enhance the efficiency & security of client services.

2) Cloud Service

Collaborate with business to plan & manage budgets for cloud resources.
Work closely with security specialists and compliance officers to identify and address potential security risks associated with the deployment and operation of application containers.
Provision, configure & manage cloud infrastructure components such as virtual machines, storage & networking, including implementing automation scripts/tools to streamline KTLO operations & track the health/performance of cloud resources.
Optimize application containers or virtual machines in a scalable manner, considering factors like load balancing, resource utilization & auto-scaling mechanisms.
