Responsibilities

• Receive laboratory specimens through Pneumatic Tube delivery system.
• Receive and reject unsuitable specimens for analysis.
• Operate the Laboratory Information System (LIS) for receipt and queries.
• Sort and arrange samples for different divisions and dispatch to stations.
• Perform simple processing and sorting of samples (blood, urine and other body fluids).
• Notify staff of critical values and advise next steps.
• Undertake preventive maintenance on laboratory instrumentation.
• Perform shift duties as required.
