Job summary

PeopleSolve is seeking a DRG coder based in Singapore to ensure accurate inpatient and day surgery coding for MOH submissions. You will seek clarifications from clinicians for unclear cases and provide required DRG codes within the given timeframe.

The role includes performing basic internal audits to maintain coding accuracy and adhering to DRG coding standards, with ad-hoc projects as assigned by the Manager.

Qualifications

• Proficient in DRG coding and ICD-10-CM.
• Ability to seek clarifications from clinicians for unclear cases.
• Experience with inpatient and day surgery coding processes.

Responsibilities

• Complete DRG coding for inpatient and day surgery cases within MOH submission timelines.
• Clarify with clinicians and identify missing medical records to ensure coding accuracy.
• Perform basic internal audits to ensure coding standards are met; participate in ad-hoc projects as assigned by Manager.

Job description

• Ensure the completion of all DRG coding.
• Ensure all Inpatient and Day Surgery discharges are coded within an acceptable time frame for submission to MOH.

Handling of queries or clarifications

• To seek clarifications from the clinicians for unsure cases, and to highlight any incomplete or missing medical records that are required.
• Assist in providing the required DRG codes and/or the clarifications required by CPFB and/or insurance companies within the given timeframe.

Audit of Coded cases

• To be able to perform basic internal audit to ensure coding accuracy is of acceptable level.
• Ensure that the procedures and standards of coding are adhered by all clinical coders. for DRG coding.

Undertake any other ad-hoc projects or duties assigned or tasked by Manager.

What We Are Looking For

• Foreign MBBS, Nursing or Healthcare, Diploma in Nursing or equivalent.
• Preferably 1 years' experience in coding in hospital setting.
• Meticulous, independent, good team player and thorough; good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good ICD-10-CM knowledge.
