Job summary

Qualifications

• Master's degree in engineering, computer science, computational science or related field.
• 3 years or more in climate/weather simulation, CFD or large-scale numerical workloads.
• Experience building modelling/simulation applications from source code.
• Strong knowledge of performance optimisation, profiling and troubleshooting.
• Familiar with climate/weather/CFD apps such as ICON, LFRic, MPAS, NEMO, WRF, OpenFOAM, SU2.

Responsibilities

• Provide HPC and scientific domain advice to NSCC users.
• Collaborate with researchers across disciplines with heavy computational needs.
• Support and optimise large-scale simulation workloads.
• Profile and build performance models of scientific apps/workflows.
• Develop HPC software best practices for large-scale simulations.
• Assist design of future HPC systems and benchmark workloads.
• Develop HPC utilities and automated testing tools.
• Create user guides and best practices for NSCC HPC systems.
