Job summary

SILICON BOX is seeking a CIM Engineer to design, implement, and optimize semiconductor CIM and factory automation systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will integrate equipment, facilities, logistics, and MES for stable, high-quality production and support smart factory initiatives.

Applicants should have 5+ years in CIM/automation, strong analytical skills, and hands-on experience with SECS, OPC/TCP-IP, MES and CIM integration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience, including at least 3 years in system development or automation engineering.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain CIM-related systems (QMS, MC/EAP, MCS).
  • Lead new automation requirements from studies to implementation.
  • Improve factory efficiency, stability, and automation coverage.
  • Perform RCA and drive corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with process, equipment, IT, and manufacturing teams.
  • Coordinate with vendors for system troubleshooting and upgrades.
  • Support factory ramp-up, new tool onboarding, and mass production stabilization.

Job description

The CIM Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of semiconductor Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) and factory automation systems. This role supports smart factory initiatives by integrating equipment, facilities, logistics, and manufacturing execution systems to ensure stable, efficient, and high-quality production operations.

Candidates with experience in semiconductor, LCD, industrial automation, or smart factory/CIM environments are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain CIM-related systems, including:
  • Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Manufacturing Control / Equipment Automation (MC / EAP)
  • Logistics Automation Systems (MCS)
  • Lead new automation requirements, including system studies, feasibility analysis, solution design, and implementation.
  • Perform system enhancement, modification, and optimization to improve factory efficiency, stability, and automation coverage.
  • Analyze equipment and system issues, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and drive corrective and preventive actions.
  • Provide cross-functional collaboration with process, equipment, IT, and manufacturing teams to resolve integrated system issues.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for system troubleshooting, upgrades, and technical issue resolution.
  • Support factory ramp-up, new tool onboarding, and mass production stabilization activities.
  • Ensure compliance with factory standards, quality requirements, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in 24/7 production support or on-call support as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience, including at least 3 years in system development or automation engineering.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Technical Experience

Programming and development:

  • C, C#, .NET, or equivalent
  • Database systems: Oracle, MS SQL Server

Semiconductor equipment communication:

  • SECS-I / SECS-II
  • HSMS / GEM
  • OPC, TCP/IP

Factory system integration:

  • MES, EAP, CIM systems
  • AGV systems
  • OHT control (ACS / OCS)
  • Hands-on experience with Smart Factory / CIM implementation projects
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in quality-related systems such as:

  • SPC, YMS, RMS, Others
  • Facility automation interface experience
  • Experience in large-scale manufacturing automation deployment
  • Knowledge of system reliability, availability, and maintainability (RAM)
