Q-Fraud seeks a CTO to lead all technical efforts from day one in Singapore. You will own the architectural foundation, guide PoCs with real-world partners, and build a scalable product.

Fluency in English and willingness to relocate to Singapore.

Job description

Serve as the technical co-founder and designated technical leader of Q-Fraud
Build the technological foundation and lead it long term as the first permanent CTO
Work with the CEO and QAI Ventures in Phase 1 to validate the technical hypothesis, define architecture, and implement the first PoC with a real-world partner
Lead the technical team from Phase 2 onward
Own product technology and shape company strategy with the CEO
Define and implement the technical roadmap from initial validation to a scalable product
Make autonomous decisions on technology stack, hardware dependencies, and scaling logic
Ensure technical feasibility at each stage
Define technical problems and structure scientific hypotheses
Evaluate and develop the technological USP, including quantum-inspired approaches, algorithmic differentiation, and patentability
Develop IP strategy with external partners
Assess Technology Readiness Levels and derive realistic development paths
Demonstrate scientific robustness to customers, investors, and hardware partners
Co-design and implement the first technical prototype and PoC system hands-on
Set up and manage test environments and sandbox systems
Coordinate with PoC partners on data access, system integration, and results analysis
Translate PoC insights into product architecture and scaling decisions
Own technical investment and PoC readiness
Explain complex technology to non-technical investors, partners, and customers
Own technical aspects of pitch decks, data rooms, and due diligence
Build credibility with scientific and technology partners in APAC
Collaborate with quantum hardware, university, and research institute partners

Requirements

PhD or Master’s degree in quantum physics, physics, computer science, quantum engineering, or a related field; quantum physics must have been a central component of the education
Several years of experience as an engineer, architect, or technical leader in an applied deep tech, AI, or quantum computing environment
Proven experience building and operating systems in a practical setting: PoCs, MVPs, or near-production prototypes
Startup, scale-up, or venture experience is a strong plus
Entrepreneurial drive is a must
In-depth understanding of quantum-inspired or quantum-based algorithms and practical applicability, such as QUBO formulations, VQC, QSVM, or comparable approaches
Practical experience in applied machine learning, statistical modeling, or quantitative optimization; built and deployed models
Ability to realistically assess technical feasibility
Experience in system architecture and designing scalable technical solutions
Understanding of IP strategies, patent logic, and freedom-to-operate analyses
Desire to build a company and lead it technically long term
Strong analytical mindset with pragmatic implementation focus
Ability to balance scientific depth with entrepreneurial reality
Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical counterparts
Financial independence for at least 12 months without a salary from the venture—a strict requirement
Willingness to make a personal financial commitment to the venture
Fluency in English
Residence in or willingness to relocate to Singapore on an ad hoc basis
