Job summary

Recruit Express Pte Ltd seeks a Consultant Pathologist & Department Head to lead a private medical laboratory's pathology department in Singapore. You will oversee diagnostic services, quality assurance, accreditation, and governance while engaging with clinicians, clients, and management.

The role requires MBBS/MD, specialist pathology qualifications, valid registration, and at least 8 years as a Consultant Pathologist with leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Must hold MBBS/MD or equivalent medical degree.
• Specialist pathology qualifications (e.g., FRCPath, M Med Pathology) required.
• Valid medical registration and specialist accreditation.
• Minimum 8 years as Consultant Pathologist; leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic reporting across histopathology, cytopathology, and clinical pathology.
• Lead the pathology department including pathologists, lab technologists, and staff.
• Ensure high-quality, timely diagnostic services and governance.
• Develop and review SOPs, QC/QA programmes, and accreditation efforts.
• Drive ISO 15189/CAP accreditation and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee governance, audits, incidents, and risk management.
• Manage budget, resources, equipment, and inventory for the department.
• Collaborate with clinicians, hospital partners, and clients.
• Support business development, new tests, and strategic planning.
• Provide teaching, training, and mentorship to staff; participate in research.
