The Marketing Officer (CMO) is responsible for driving the organisation’s growth by identifying new business opportunities, forming strategic partnerships, entering new markets, and overseeing revenue expansion initiatives. The CMO works closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to shape long-term business strategies and achieve commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Growth Strategic & Market Expansion
- Develop and execute the company’s long-term business development and market expansion strategy.
- Identify new markets, customer segments, and revenue opportunities.
- Evaluate and pursue strategic investments, joint ventures, or acquisitions when applicable.
2. Strategic Partnerships & Alliances
- Build and manage high-value partnerships with key industry players, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Negotiate agreements, collaborations, and commercial terms with partners.
- Strengthen relationships with major clients, customers, and potential investors.
3. Revenue & Commercial Leadership
- Lead initiatives to generate new revenue streams and improve overall profitability.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to design go-to-market plans.
- Establish metrics and KPIs to monitor commercial performance and pipeline growth.
4. Business Development Operations
- Oversee prospecting, deal pipeline management, and commercial negotiations.
- Develop business proposals, pitches, and strategic documents for new opportunities.
- Ensure business development activities align with corporate goals and financial targets.
5. Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Lead and mentor the business development team, driving high performance and accountability.
- Work closely with Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Operations to support business growth.
- Drive a culture of innovation, collaboration, and strategic thinking.
6. Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging market shifts.
- Translate market data into actionable strategies for business expansion.
- Provide insights to senior leadership to support strategic decision-making.
Job Requirements
1. Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Marketing, or related fields.
- MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- Minimum 10–15 years of business development or strategic leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior or executive role.
