Job summary

MGM SHIP MANAGEMENT PTE. LTD. is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead engine room operations on our vessel fleet in Singapore.

The role requires expertise in managing shipboard machineries, electrical systems, and maintenance programs to ensure safe and reliable operations at sea. The candidate must hold a CoC Class III Management level and Full STCW certification, with 2–4 years of hands-on experience as Chief Engineer onboard.

Qualifications

• CoC Class III Management level certification required.
• Minimum 2–4 years of onboard Chief Engineer experience.
• Full STCW certification required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the performance of ship and engine room machineries and electrical systems.
• Coordinate routine and non-routine maintenance of engine room, steering gear room, emergency generator room, and battery room.
• Promptly attend to machineries and alarm system defects and deficiencies.
• Be in charge of all oily water separator operation and maintenance.
• Comply with all known risk control measures when required.
• Perform duties as assigned in the ship abandon ship and emergency muster list.
• Report near misses and incidents to the ship safety officer or safety committee.
• Post anti-oil pollution posters and secure discharge valves in engine room.
• Adhere to all other safety and operational directives as required.

Job description

1.The performance and operation of the ship and engine room machineries and electrical system.

2. The routine and non-routine maintenance of engine room, steering gear room, emergency generator room, battery room

3. Promptly attend to all machineries and alarm system defects and deficiencies

4. In charge of (authority for) all oily water separator operation and maintenance.

5. When at work, comply with all known applicable risk control measures when required.

6. Perform the duties as assigned in the ship abandon ship and emergency muster list.

7. When at work, comply with all known applicable risk control measures as required.

8. Report any near miss and incident to the ship safety officer or members of the safety committee.

9. Post up anti oil pollution posters and lash with padlock to prevent accidental opening at appropriate discharge valve location in the engine room.

Minimum Requirement

1. CoC Class III Management level

2. Minimum 2-4 years experience onboard as Chief Engineer

3. Full STCW certification
