Job summary

Marchwood Laboratory Services Pte. Ltd. invites applications for a Lab Analyst role in Singapore. The position offers training for entry level candidates while performing standard laboratory tests using wet chemistry and analytical instruments.

You will document results, calibrate equipment, and assist in method development and SOP preparation, with opportunities to work on cost-saving QA/QC initiatives.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Chemistry or related field.
• Entry level candidates welcome; training provided.
• Experience with basic laboratory equipment is an advantage.
• Must be self-driven, team player with initiative and good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests using wet chemistry and analytical instruments.
• Document records, calibrate and maintain equipment per SAC-SINGLAS/ISO 17025 requirements.
• Prepare materials, samples, and perform analyses per procedures and test methods.
• Verify sample results into computer and prepare reports.
• Assist in method development and identify new tests per client needs.
• Prepare SOPs and train Junior Analyst.
• Propose cost-saving measures without compromising QA/QC.

Job description

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Perform Laboratory Tests using both wet chemistry and analytical instrument.
• Documentation records and equipment calibration and maintenance as per SAC-SINGLAS (ISO 17025) requirements.
• Assist to maintain all necessary accessories / parts / consumables for the equipment.
• Responsible for the preparation of materials / samples / compactions and perform analyses according to procedures and test methods.
• Accurately verify sample results into computer, compilation of test result, and preparing report.
• Assist in method development as identified, and new tests to be identified based on business opportunities or client's requirement.
• To assist in preparing SOP and train Junior Analyst for the test.
• Constantly proposing cost-saving measures for daily testing / operations without compromising QAQC plan or data quality objective.

Technical Skill Competencies:

• Assist in coordination and management of testing projects and validations.
• Assist in inventory control.
• To learn regarding SAC Accreditation.

Skill & Experience

• Diploma / Degree in Chemistry, Chemical & Life Science, Environmental Science/Engineering, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, or chemistry-related field
• Entry Level candidate are welcome as training provided
• Experience in operating basic laboratory equipment will be an added advantage.
• Must be self-driven, team player with initiative and good communication skill.
