Job summary

The Chemical Engineering Technician (Solvent Recovery) role at The Supreme HR Advisory Pte. Ltd. is based in Tuas, Singapore.

The position requires handling distillation operations, ensuring safe plant performance, and coordinating with the lab for sampling and SOP compliance. Overtime and shift work are part of the schedule; a basic salary of SGD 1,900–2,700 with transport allowance and a sign-on bonus are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum NITEC/Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field.
• Proficient in basic computer applications (MS Office, email, internet research).
• Able to perform overtime/shift work.

Responsibilities

• Operate distillation process plant and ensure waste is converted to product.
• Ensure distillation plant operates within safe parameters.
• Safely handle transfer of flammable materials.
• Coordinate with Laboratory for waste/product sampling and SOP follow-up.
• Coordinate with Laboratory & resale team for item re-sellings.
• Ensure storage capacity is sufficient and products stored safely.
• Monitor distillation performance, recover yield, and manage utilities consumption.
• Startup/shutdown distillation process per SOP.
• Record process data and report deviations.
• Identify and rectify process upsets and equipment malfunctions promptly.
• Work with engineering to resolve equipment issues and implement preventive measures.
• Conduct routine inspections for leaks, spills, and safety hazards; ensure safe handling of flammables.
• Participate in training programs to enhance chemical and safety knowledge.
• Support 5S and safety initiatives for the department.

Chemical Engineering Technician (Solvent Recovery)

• Location: Tuas




• (Company Transport / Transport Allowance $120 if candidate travel to work by themselves)




• Working hours: Monday to Friday (8am - 5pm); Saturday (8am - 12pm) / Shift Work (Day: 8am - 8pm, Night: 8pm - 8am)




• Basic salary: $1,900 - $2,700 (Entitled to overtime / shift work allowances) + Sign-on bonus (T&C apply)

Requirements

• Minimum NITEC/Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field.

Responsibilities:

• To work at distillation process plant to make sure distil spent waste material into product.




• To ensure distillation process plant operates in safe operation parameters.




• To ensure the safety of the transferring of the flammable material.




• To ensure close co-ordination with the Laboratory for waste/product sampling.




• To ensure the following up of the SOP.




• To co-ordinate closely with the Laboratory & resale team for the re-sell items.




• To ensure there is sufficient storage capacity, and the product safely stored and treated.




• To ensure the performance and efficiency of distillation process plant in terms of the recovery yield and utilities consumption.




• Startup/shut down operation of distillation process plant according to SOP.




• Record process data and report any deviations.




• Identify and rectify process upset and equipment malfunction timely.




• Work with engineering to resolve equipment issues and implement preventive measures.
