Job summary

SKtes, a global leader in secure and sustainable technology lifecycle management, is seeking an experienced Chemical Engineer to lead manufacturing operations at our Battery Recycling Plant. You will own production planning, drive process optimisation, monitor quality performance, and provide strong team leadership to ensure operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Degree in chemical engineering or related field required.
• Experience in manufacturing environments, preferably chemical or process plants.
• Strong production operations background including manpower planning and capacity optimisation.
• Experience leading teams and delivering performance improvements.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and material planning experience.
• Strong teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead production team and manufacturing activities as Area Owner, including planning and quality initiatives.
• Manage performance reviews, address gaps, and develop the team.
• Develop and monitor production schedules to meet targets/KPIs.
• Drive productivity, quality, training metrics and report to management.
• Lead Continuous Improvement Programs (CIP) with engineering for corrective actions.
• Ensure training and adherence to Work Instructions for all staff.
• Monitor material usage and address shortages; manage variances.
• Oversee basic maintenance to maximise uptime and efficiency.
• Maintain 5S, safety, and cleanliness on the production floor.
• Collaborate with maintenance on TPM initiatives.
• Track monthly KPIs and support capacity planning via skills matrix.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and drivenChemical Engineerto lead manufacturing operations within our Battery Recycling Plant. In this role, you will take ownership of production planning, process optimisation, quality performance, and team leadership to ensure operational excellence and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on leadership position suited for individuals with strong experience in chemical or process plant environments who thrive in a fast-paced and high-impact setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead production team and manufacturing activities as Area Owner, including production planning, process troubleshooting, and quality control initiatives

• Manage and conduct performance reviews, addressing performance gaps, discipline matters, and team development

• Develop and monitor production schedules, ensuring delivery against operational targets and KPIs

• Drive productivity, quality, and training metrics, and report performance to management and stakeholders

• Lead Continuous Improvement Programmes (CIP) and collaborate with engineering teams on investigations and corrective actions

• Ensure proper training and adherence to Work Instructions (WI) for all production staff

• Monitor raw material usage and availability, and propose solutions to address shortages

• Manage material and labour variances to meet operational targets

• Oversee basic maintenance of production equipment to maximise uptime and efficiency

• Maintain production floor safety, cleanliness, and 5S standards

• Collaborate with maintenance teams to drive TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) initiatives

• Track and present monthly KPIs, and support capacity planning through skills matrix and machine utilisation analysis

Key Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or other relevant Engineering discipline

• Proven experience in manufacturing environments, preferably in chemical or process plant industries

• Strong background in production operations, including manpower planning and capacity optimisation

• Experience in leading teams, driving performance, and handling operational challenges

• Hands-on experience in process troubleshooting and material planning

• Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills

• Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
