Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years in process, production, or project engineering.
  • Leadership experience of 2+ years in a supervisory role.
  • Understanding of chemical processing systems and safety.
  • Knowledge of high purity chemicals and contamination control.

Responsibilities

  • Drive safety culture and enforce no-tolerance policies across shift.
  • Ensure adherence to company procedures, policies, and SWP system.
  • Directly manage production technicians and ensure qualification.
  • Lead PSSR and emergency response readiness and actions.
  • Oversee training, cross-training, and workforce development.
  • Manage scheduling, manpower, and inventory for the shift.
  • Monitor KPIs: safety, quality, OEE, and production costs.
  • Lead root-cause investigations for quality and safety issues.
  • Coordinate maintenance and shutdown planning to maximize reliability.
  • Maintain up-to-date SOPs and operating documents for the team.

About the role


The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the daily production operations on a designated shift or unit within the chemical plant. This role ensures that manufacturing processes adhere to procedures/work instructions, safety standards, quality specifications, production schedules, and cost objectives. The supervisor leads and mentors a team of operators and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and safety compliance.


Key responsibilities



  • Drive a non-negotiable culture of safety, implementing and enforcing the "No Tolerance to Deviation" and Stop Work Authority policies across the shift team

  • Ensure all employees and contractors understand and follow established company and site policies and operational procedures

  • Directly manage Production Technicians, ensuring all personnel are formally qualified, competent, and capable for their assigned tasks

  • Mandate and verify successful completion of Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR) and strict adherence to the Safe Work Permit (SWP) system

  • Serve as leader for the internal Emergency Response (ER) team, ensuring readiness and effective execution of emergency procedures

  • Balance competing priorities—safety, quality, productivity, manpower, cost, and morale to ensure positive integrated results

  • Champion Safety and Quality Leadership, intervening immediately on deviations and unsafe acts

  • Lead investigations into root causes of quality, safety, and reliability issues

  • Manage workforce planning, schedule management, and inventory control for the shift

  • Ensure achievement of all Production Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including personal safety, process safety, quality, OEE, and cost of production

  • Manage and prioritize maintenance activities and shutdowns to minimize schedule impact and maximize reliability

  • Ensure all key operating documents (SOPs, WIs) are accurate, up-to-date, and effectively communicated to the team

  • Oversee structured training of new personnel on core production systems

  • Facilitate cross-training to build workforce flexibility and resilience

  • Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and decisive problem-solving within shift teams


About you



  • At least a Diploma, preferably in Chemical Process Technology or equivalent qualification

  • Minimum 5+ years experience in process, production, or project engineering, preferably within high purity specialty chemicals, food, nuclear, semiconductor, or pharmaceutical plant operations

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in a leadership role

  • Comprehensive understanding of chemical processing systems

  • Familiarity with mechanical equipment, encompassing pumps, piping, manifolds, and valves

  • Expertise in the characteristics of high purity chemicals and contamination control methodologies

  • Knowledge of mechanical processing systems

  • Ability to perform technical troubleshooting to resolve process issues

  • Ability to read and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID)

  • Exceptional proficiency in problem-solving, strong interpersonal and communication abilities

  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent priorities

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational capabilities within a team environment

  • Fluency in the Subsidiary official language(s), including expert written and verbal communication in English

  • Ability to work rotating shifts and flexibility to accommodate changes in schedules and shifts as operational needs dictate
