Job summary

NORSTAR CHARTERING PTE. LIMITED in Singapore is seeking a proactive Junior Chartering Assistant to support voyage operations and post-fixture tasks within a busy maritime team.

You will read Charter Party terms, ensure voyage orders and charterers’ requests are met, and liaise with agents, surveyors, bunkers, and loading/discharging teams; the role also covers admin and accounting tasks, with guidance to learn and grow.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Charter Parties is an added advantage.
• No experience required but those with 1-2 years experience in dry bulk is favourable.
• Diploma or Degree in Maritime Studies preferred.
• Self-motivated with good integrity a plus.
• Possess initiative and able to work pro-actively with little supervision.
• Good working attitude and keen to learn.

Responsibilities

• To read the CP terms during fixture and ensure voyage orders and charterers’ requests.
• Comply with Charter Party terms.
• Handling of post fixture operational matters for all chartered vessels as per CP.
• Monitor each vessel’s schedule and itinerary, preparing for operational events.
• Liaising with agents for surveys, bunkers and various loading and discharging matters.
• Collaborate with insurance companies, ship management companies, lawyers, and other relevant parties to resolve daily incidents and issues.
• Helping in operational related admin & accounting works.
• Any other duties as assigned.
