Job summary

FranklinWH Energy Storage Inc. in Singapore seeks a Certification and Compliance Expert to lead certification strategy and ongoing regulatory compliance for major markets.

You will oversee planning, testing, document submission, and certificate issuance for residential energy storage systems and related products. You will assess regulatory changes, maintain certification records, and train teams to embed compliance early in development.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of certification experience in energy storage or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Own certification planning, execution, and compliance management for residential energy storage systems and related products in major markets.
• Identify applicable safety, grid, EMC, battery safety regulations and develop roadmaps, test plans, and risk responses.
• Lead certification gap assessments, technical reviews, and pre-compliance testing with R&D and test teams.
• Coordinate with certification bodies, test labs, utilities and other external organizations for documentation, testing, reports, and certificates.
• Monitor regulatory changes and manage certificate maintenance and records.
• Maintain applicability matrices and project registers to keep status, ownership and expiry traceable.
• Assess certification impact of hardware/software changes and determine testing or certificate amendments.
• Provide regulatory and certification training to cross-functional teams to embed compliance early in development process.

About the Role

This role owns product certification strategy and ongoing compliance management for major global markets and ensures that certification requirements are implemented throughout design, testing, product change, and mass production.

Key Responsibilities

1.Own certification planning, execution, and compliance management for complete residential energy storage systems, PCS, battery systems, and related power distribution products in major global markets.

2.Identify applicable product safety, grid-connection, electromagnetic compatibility, battery safety, and electrical installation regulations and standards in target markets, and develop certification roadmaps, test plans, and risk-response plans.

3.Lead certification gap assessments, technical reviews, and pre-compliance testing during the design stage, and work with research and development and test teams to close certification issues.

4.Coordinate with certification bodies, test laboratories, utilities, and other external organizations to manage document submission, prototype testing, report review, and certificate issuance.

5.Monitor regulatory and standards changes in target markets and manage product-change assessments, certificate maintenance, certification records, and the internal compliance system.

6.Maintain applicability matrices for regulations and standards, certification project registers, and certificate databases so that status, ownership, and expiry actions remain traceable.

7.Assess certification impacts of hardware, software, mechanical, critical-component, and supplier changes and determine requirements for additional testing, report updates, or certificate amendments.

8.Provide regulatory and certification training to research and development, product, supply chain, manufacturing, and quality teams and embed compliance requirements early in the development process.

Requirements

9.Bachelor's degree or above in electrical engineering, power electronics, automation, new energy, or a related discipline. At least 8 years of certification experience involving new energy, power products, photovoltaic inverters, or energy storage products.

10.Familiarity with the technical architecture and major certification risks of complete residential energy storage systems, PCS, BMS, EMS, and power distribution products.

11.In-depth knowledge of product safety, grid-connection, electromagnetic compatibility, and battery safety regulations and standards applicable in major residential energy storage markets.

12.End-to-end experience in international certification projects for energy storage or photovoltaic products, with the ability to independently identify standards, plan testing, drive corrective action, and obtain certificates.

13.Strong program management and cross-functional collaboration skills. Able to interpret technical standards, prepare certification documents, and communicate with international certification bodies and laboratories in English.

14.Experience in regulatory and standards applicability analysis, product-change impact assessment, and certificate maintenance.

15.Ability to manage multiple markets and certification projects concurrently while maintaining clear risks, schedules, owners, and deliverables.
